Fats
From ChildWiki.com
According to nutritional specialists, fats must be a component part of a balanced diet, because they have certain important roles in the body:
- Fats are the ones that provide the body with the essential fat acids (Omega 3 and Omega 6), which the body can not synthesize alone, but needs them for a series of processes (for example immunity - Omega 6 and cerebral processes - Omega 3)
- Fats help assimilating the vitamins that are soluble in them (Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K); without fats these vitamins that are absolutely vital for the body will not be assimilated correctly and will be eliminated.
Nutritionists recommend for the daily diet to contain all the three important types of nutrients, fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Fats are required in a percent of 25 to 30%.
But not all fats are good, because there are more types of fats, that are all grouped into two main categories:
- Bad fats, that when consumed in excess can produce severe consequences (heart failure, hypertension, vascular accidents)
- Good fats (this is where the essential fat acids are included) that must not be missing from diets , especially in children, beacuse they bring great benefits to the body.
Good fats are especially found in :Fat fish, linen oil, some vegetable butters, vegetable mayonnaise, all types of nuts.
Bad fats are found mostly in fat animal meat, overcooked meat, butter, fried meat and grilled meat, fast food products, patisserie products.
